Distance Covered:

Drove up form Basingstoke with a stonking hangover, Jumped into the ASH and declared Bicester O/R. Got to Nothampton and had to grovel at 700ft over the city trying to find a climb. Saw about two overs of a cricket match whilst climbing in 1/2 knot, then pressed on. Got a good climb 10km the other side of Bicester, about 7 gliders in the thermal before I left. Managed to get to 3000 ft 35km out from HusBos, final glide all the way back in. Made it with 150ft to spare and no airspeed at all, nerves in shreds.....

110km, 2:10

Thought I had done the slowest flight of the day, later learnt that everyone else (including a British team pilot) turned back. I would have known if I turned the radio on.....
